Candle Lighting Ceremony

You have cared for me as your own
You’ve watched me as I’ve grown
We’re like a flower to its stem

You’re with me always through the holidays
I still remember putting on skits and plays,
and I’ll never forget our crazy hair ways
So Uncle Richie, I got a hug for you
When you come light CANDLE #2.

You live down there and I live up here
So we might see each other a couple times a year
From my Philly home to your Texas town
I’ve never seen you with a frown
Will Uncle Elliot and Aunt Christina come light CANDLE #3,
and we’ll have a funky three’s company.

You’ve moved so much but have found a place to stay,
in hilly Colorado where it snows in May
I love when you’re down here so very much
Instead of using the phone or emails to get in touch
I hope you don’t mind but I’m tryin’ to rhyme
So will cousin Megan and her mom Aunt Door, come light CANDLE #4.

We have meals, we have love
It’s like someone’s watching from above
So many times, so many places
I see the smiles on our faces
And that’s why you’re lighting CANDLE #5
Uncle Alan and Aunt Shawn come get this crowd alive!

This candle is, in loving memory
Of those who taught me
How to write my own story
It starts when,
I was born
Grandma Pearl, Grandma Shirley, Grandpa Herman coulda sworn
They loved me they held me
If something happened
It could easily be fixed
That’s why I loved them so, it’s time to light CANDLE #6.

We go back a ways, through so many times
A lot of them using so many dimes
I’ve loved your dogs even though they bark
Sometimes we’ve walked them down to the park
You make the best omelets — when I taste them I’m in heaven
Rich won’t you light CANDLE #7.

What are we?
We are thee,
We are the ones that put best into friends
We are the ones that never ends
I think its fate cause you guys are great
Will all my friends come up and light CANDLE #8.

This candle is in honor of
Grandpa Harry and Bernice
Who are so very beloved
My thoughts are with you always
As I picture you dancing in the Florida rays
Happy as can be, I’m sure you are for me
I’d love for you to honorably light CANDLE # 9
As I’m sure your face would normally shine.

I know you’re not used to me saying this
But I love you so much its no joke
Without you, I’d be no one
(But luckily for me no one is perfect)
We may match like a wire to a warning sign
Always together but not safe when are
Though I’m telling you now, I love you so
